the michael kors experience 005

(Got a big, big sweater and a microphone...)

Before those of you who don’t knit stare balefully at the screen and holler, “what the hell is THIS?  where are the recipes?”, let me assure you that goodies are coming.  I meant what I said about gradually getting my A game back.  Today finds me—or will find me—at the farmer’s market, scoring whatever fruit and vegetables and meats are scorable; at the butcher’s, picking up the chickens that will provide the week’s lunches and dinners, as well as chicken stock for a few dozen pots of greens; at Kalustyan’s for a big bag of black-eyed peas, as well as anything else that might fill me with the burning desire to cook it; possibly, time permitting, in Chinatown, where I can buy oyster sauce for the few dozen pots of greens that won’t be cooked in chicken stock, as well as young, near-skinless, fiber-free ginger that can be had for a ridiculously low price; and, finally, at lunch with the ever-fabulous Lunch Bunch, Julie and Bunni, before I drag all the foodstuffs home and establish base camp in the kitchen.  Of course, I’ll be in a sharing mood, but in the meantime, I can’t help but brag, gently, about my (incomplete) (oversized) (learning experience I will probably regret once the whole thing’s put together and is either much too large or much too small) sweater.  Thanking you all in advance for your patience.
