Dear friends, my hindquarters are being roundly thrashed by LuthorCorp this week.  It's nothing bad, nothing job-threatening, but it does involve no small amount of change, and this change is leaving me particularly empty at the end of the day.  When this week is over, it will take everything in me not to take to bed for six solid days.  Rest assured, though, I will not.  smile

So, safe to say it’s not Golden Years then? Sorry; couldn’t resist. wink Hope things improve post-haste.

you swiped the lyrics right outta my head!  part of The Knight’s Tale soundtrack I bought recently (for the kids, for the kids), Aaaangel!

I hear you. How ‘bout taking to the kitchen for six solid days instead? With asparagus and rhubarb season upon us here, that’s what I want to do!

Hang on. Friday: it’s only a day away.

oh go ahead, I would. perhaps i will.

Oh, thank you, dearies.  I sounded much worse than I felt in that post.  By “empty” I don’t mean emotionally empty, or existential; I just mean dang tired.  The change is definitely good change, but it just requires some new mental musculature on my part.  It’s like running sprints after years of long-distance running; the motions are similar, yet the results are different.

Incidentally, as I write this, it’s 5:30 on Friday afternoon, and I have no inclination to take to bed for six days.  Kimberly, I’ll take you up on the rhubarb and asparagus challenge, just as soon as either one shows up in NYC.  smile

Confidential to Miz g:  I’ll stick with you, baby, for a thousand years.  wink

I’m right there with you, goliard.

...Come get up my baby
Look at that sky, life’s begun
Nights are warm and the days are yahahahng
Come get up my baby

(and then my brain skips right ot this part)

Some of these days, and it won’t be long
Gonna drive back down where you once belonged
In the back of a dream car twenty foot long
Don’t cry my sweet, don’t break my heart
Doing all right, but you gotta get smart
Wish upon, wish upon, day upon day, I believe oh lord
I believe all the way
Come get up my baby
Run for the shadows, run for the shadows, run for the shadows in these golden years

"Bakerina”
I hope “I” am not your “LutherCorp” driving you mentally crazy…

Hmmm… my RSS feed didn’t update :-( I’ll have to look into that.

Sorry to hear work has you down. It’s crazy how much a change in duties or schedule or that can really drag down your energy levels.

I hope it gets better soon!

T!  Welcome to PTMYB. smile Rest assured, you are not LuthorCorp.  For workplace discretion purposes, anytime you see “Funky Little Company,” that refers to our own little division, while “LuthorCorp” refers to the parent company.  Of course, I’m being tongue-in-cheek with that appellation.  I haven’t had to build an earthquake machine or death ray for the company in at least five years.  wink

Kristi, it’s funny that you mention that about the RSS feed—my Technorati tags for What’s for Pud? didn’t work, either.  I wonder if that means that my blog is actually dead and no one has thought to tell it, like in The Sixth Sense?

I’m glad you’ve made it to the weekend, Jen, and I look forward to seeing what you’ll do when the rhubarb and asparagus show up there!

I’ve had some strange things happening with Technorati tags recently; seems like my tagged posts don’t show up in Technorati if there’s a blockquote in the post - as is the case in your What’s for Pud? post. I’ve taken to posting without the blockquotes first, checking Technorati, then going back and adding blockquotes where I want them. Stupidly tedious workaround… but so far it has worked for me.
